First of all, as I start all my updates, thank you so much for your support! Dave and I are so excited by your enthusiasm and encouragement, it really means a lot and we cannot wait to make something truly awesome for you!
Stretch Goal 6: SMASHED!
Another day and another stretch goal SMASHED by you all! As such, we now have our first extra store, open for business! The Food Bazaar will feature as an additional section of the book, adding NPCs, quest hooks, and optional rules that can be dropped into your campaign as part of the Walking Marketplace, or anywhere you want your players to fill up on some grub! So we hope your players are hungry for more!
Stretch Goal 7: Daycare Center
Ever arrived in town, ready to explore and shop, but have all those pesky familiars, hirelings, and NPC allies clogging up your style? Well, our next exciting stretch goal is for you! The Walking Marketplace's very own Daycare Center!
Your beloved sidekicks will spend their day doing exciting activities, like Coloring, Petting Zoos, and learning to carry your burdens more efficiently! This new section of Cyran's Magnificent Walking Marketplace will focus on expanding gameplay for your party's unsung heroes, from your summoned familiar to that royal guard who has sworn their life to your party. Let your NPC Companions earn new alliances and quests that they can bring back to the party and let them improve their skills while you are busy shopping! Now available to be Unlocked at £70,000!
Community NPC, Style time!
For those that missed it, I sat down on stream with our wonderful artist, Elaine Ryan, and our incredible cartographer Deven Rue for the next round of designs for the Community NPC. Knowing that our NPC was a Yokai Bard/Druid who runs the Marketplace's Spa and Hot Springs, we whipped up 14 costume and style designs for you to all pick from!
Bear in mind, these are rough sketches, these will be built upon and refined once we know which direction you all love!
As usual, comment here or on the main Kickstarter page with your picks! Once you have chosen, we will confirm this and their chosen item of choice and get down to the final designs for the character!
King of Commerce Tier
As some of you may have seen, we sold out of our special King of Commerce tier in only a couple of days! This is amazing and we cannot thank you enough for your support! Considering the overwhelming enthusiasm for this, we took a look at how many magic items we can print in a deck and realized we have a few more slots for magic items than we realized! As such, we have decided to add 10 more of these, so more of you can get the chance to get your items in the final book! However, these last 10 are the maximum we can provide, so if you want the chance to design a magic item for the book and get yourself an exclusive signed print, don't hang around!

It’s now confirmed; the Luxury Book Sleeve (available in the Mercurial Merchant and Lord of Gold tiers) will now contain beautiful art cards and an eye-catching poster! We’re so excited for you to admire the beautiful artwork; it’s been a real honour getting to work with such talent, and we hope you’ll appreciate their hard work even more with this tier upgrade!
Stretch Goal 6: The Food Bazaar
Showcase snippets of your world’s cultures through the medium of food with the Food Bazaar, unlocked at £60,000!
Have your PCs sample delicacies from across the universe with numerous pre-built food stalls, easily adaptable to reflect the beautiful diversity of your world. Try a slice of Wrigglefruit, quench your thirst with a mug of Hot Sap, and attempt to reach the gooey-center of a Molten Nugget!
The Food Bazaar will not only have a range of characters, stories and quests to explore, but rules to allow these exotic and unique cuisines to give your parties buffs and debuffs, so that exquisite banquet feels like it has a real effect on the game!

Hello, everyone!
We wanted to drop a short update about all of the exciting things coming your way in the near future. Also, we wanted to share our first glimpse of the NPC you're all working so hard to create! So, what are we waiting for?
Item Modification
First of all, we wanted to share a bit more information about what this upcoming stretch goal is, how it will work, and what you can expect, if and when it is unlocked. This stretch goal came about from a very simple desire—to take items you may receive early in a campaign and scale them with you as you grow so that they can remain an important part of your character all the way to level 20!
Level up and customize any item into your dream artifact!
The rules will be fairly simple, and the book will be crammed full with options that can be added to any type of item. To use it, you simply select from a table of options depending on the itemtype — Weapon, Armour, or Wondrous Item, then collect the resources needed to craft that attachment (which will vary depending on rarity), and off you go!
Items will be restricted by rarity, with an item's rarity increasing every time you upgrade it. So, for example, you could start your adventure with your father's old, rusted sword. Then, you add a serrated blade to give it an extra 1d6 slashing damage, turning it from a common item to an uncommon item. Next, you add an enchantment to give it a +1, causing it to go from uncommon, to rare!
Choose how your gear develops, design the legendary item you want!
The item modification system is something we are really excited about and will be designed to make it easy for you to add your own modifications to really give you control over your loot!
Community Built NPC
I also wanted to thank those that were able to make it to our first stream with the wonderful artist Elaine Ryan! We had a wonderful time yesterday, designing the first sketches of our community-built NPC. For those that couldn't make the stream, check it out now:
Along with Elaine, we started to design a number of possible looks for the NPC! Knowing that they are a Yokai Bard, with some possible druid connections, Elaine came up with these possible looks:

Stretch Goal 4: SMASHED!
Oh yes! We're now overjoyed to let you guys know that the book Cyran's Magnificent Walking Marketplace will now include item modification rules to help upgrade (or curse!) your players' weapons, armor, and items! This will be an exciting addition that will really help tailor your players' equipment to the personality of their OCs; and at the end of the day, isn't that what's so great about TTRPGs?!
Stretch Goal 5: The Mercurial Merchant Update!
Since Day 1 we wanted to include a little extra something in the Luxury Book Cover to make it an even more special edition. The next stretch goal will focus on the artists who've created absolutely gorgeous illustrations for the project with a poster of the book cover by Ralph Horsley and plenty of art cards! These beautiful items will be included in the Mercurial Merchant tier (and, accordingly, the Lord of Gold tier).

Of course, as great as this artwork is, it can never trump my front-page rough concept art...

Community NPC Vote
The voting has been fast and furious over the last couple of days over choosing an aesthetic for the Community Vote NPC, to the point where we have decided to give it an extra couple of days for everyone to get their voice heard! Head on over to the previous update and submit your vote before we unveil the results next week!
Another Tier?
We've been blown away by the amount of interaction of this community, not just in voting in the NPC Creation, but also in providing ideas throughout! With that said, Mat and I are now considering including another tier in the project.
This tier would allow the backer to come up with an item concept to include in the book; that's right, your original item could be immortalized through the ages with its own rules, original artwork (both in-book and on its own Items Card), and an art print sent directly to you.
We'd love to know if this is something the community would like to see! Please let us know in the comments below!
